Looks like severe die deterioration doubling. But, if you could please orientate your pics correctly and take a couple of pics that show the whole obverse and reverse that would help tremendously. Also too take some pics of IN GOD WE TRUST and LIBERTY.

To CCF! Jim is absolutely 100% correct. Die Deterioration Doubling, not a Doubled Die Obverse. See my education thread toturials on Die Deterioration and Die Deterioration Doubling. http://goccf.com/t/317950P

Thanks for info. Would these be worth grading or attribution? Does die deterioration create two of the exact same coin? Found these coin roll hunting looking for a W mint mark. Thought I was lucky finding one and got the other 25 miles away from where I got the first

Definitely DDD with maybe a little radial smearing. Yes, the same die can create hundreds maybe thousands of them until it's retired. You can see the progression of deterioration by comparing the two. Not worth grading at all.

Definitely not worth getting it graded by a TPG, as this doesn't carry any extra premium, since this is not a collectible type of doubling. Part of normal wear and tear on the dies, from striking planchets at the U.S. Mint. If you want to see legitimate Doubled Dies, see this link and do some research. http://doubleddie.com/228401.html

My research found that Ken potter says any doubling is real doubling it just needs to be specific like die deterioration or rotated hub doubling. I think I read that on doubleddie.com

Thanks for money saving info. I was going to grade. Does die deterioration get attributed? Or straight to Ebay? Thanks for the helpful info

You can sell it on eBay, as long as you state it's Die Deterioration Doubling and have no trickery involved. As long as you're 100% honest, then there's nothing wrong with listing it on eBay.

Edit: Die Deterioration does not currently get attributed or cataloged.

I've bought a bogus coin here and there. Not cool. Even though it was only 5 10 20 bucks it's not all about the $. The reason I'm asking about these coins is to get the attribution correct. What do you think it's worth if you dont mind me asking?

Yes, that's correct. It's Die Deterioration Doubling and not a Doubled Die. As to value, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. To serious coin collectors like me, it's not worth anything. Although, I did a quick search on eBay and found some with Die Deterioration Doubling sold for a couple of bucks. No trickery was involved etheir. If you do want to list it on eBay, just be 100% flat out honest about everything and list it as Die Deterioration Doubling. I wouldn't sell it for much. Sell it for 6 dollars or something like that. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...H_Complete=1

Thanks for the info. It's still a capitalist society. I think it's worth a little more until I see another right? Maybe not
