Lovely example! Thanks for sharing.
It's an 1862 commemorative Thaler from Frankfurt, as you know, and in pretty nice shape (German vz-st. / U.S. AU)
A nice, hefty chunk of silver worth holding onto.

Your coin is very, very nice.

I am a neophyte on the subject of German Shooting Festival coinage and exonumia. All I know at the moment is there were a whole of of shooting matches happening in various areas of Germany. I can translate German, which helps some, and I know a small amount of the history of the era.

I found the below item inside a jigsaw puzzle box.

Pics are not good; it is toned but under the toning appears to be bright shiny silver. Does this type of item fall into the same general realm as the OP's?
