Yup. It's an RPM in my opinion. The split serif is the key. Nice find!

That's mint mark punch damage. Not an RPM. It's on practically every 1979-D Lincoln cent.

I think it might be, but the shadowing makes it harder to tell. Coppercoins.com has a list of these. Check it out there...

Nope, not an RPM. Just a Damaged Mintmark Punch issue.

Looks like an RPM to me.. the damage is on the top left of the D. The split is at the bottom left.

Not a RPM. The RPM on a 79 has the notch on the top left of the D.

Just found my second 1979 D Damaged mint mark punch, Looks the same. Interesting two from the same box CRH.

Broken post on the center of the mintmark and there was several dies that had the broken puncheon damage. Even on different denominations:



Many cent dies have this same damage to the lower serif. Note the RPM above. The Coin can still have this damaged punch issue and still be a RPM because of the location on the upper part of the mintmark.
