I'm voting fake, date does not look right, stars distorted, and weird worn but just struck look it has.

A cast replica. Where to begin? The color/texture are way off, even for a badly dipped coin. Sand residue within the devices, letters and at most edges of the central device. A small divet and crack below the "A" in America next to the dentils. Sharp reeding on the obverse edge, smooth on the reverse. Wow.

And 22 bids. Someone's getting burnt.

coin appears to be a cast fake, way to many bubbles/dots, on the surfaces..

Looks like I might be the only one but it looks real to me. It does look like environmental damage, polished and dipped and looks like the picture came from a scanner. All of that makes it look fake but the date lines up perfectly with other known varieties for that year. The right obverse field is not grainy and is actually very smooth not like a cast fake. It does look like a bad Seated dollar with many problems.

The date is a bad joke, like the rest of the coin. 100% bogus. Reverse has the pitted, sand-cast look of all the cast fakes.

Looks fake, in many ways already pointed out. I'd stay far away. this is the type of coin that gives ebay a bad name.

Do you notice the denticals do not join up to the rim in many places? There is field area between the denticals and the rim.

A Seated dollar designed by Andy Warhol, then faithfully cast so that everyone in the world can have all they want.

The way some of the dentils sit on the field separated from the rim is priceless. Like little stars.

The big red flag for me was the "8" in the date, followed by the "1's". Then the stars looked like it was a low res digital photo but other details were clear. I always compare to PCGS photos and to me the difference is pretty clear.

I'm surprised a casting can reproduce fine details like the lines in shields that well, must be some fine grained sand.

I would think if it was environmental damage there would be more pitting and missing detail but I don't claim to know all about counterfeiting or types of damages.

Does it do any good to report it to ebay?
