Thanks for all of the advice on my thread regarding NGC vs. PCGS for a slabbed US type set.

I decided to go with PCGS.

And of course, thanks to jbuck for the inspiration!

Here's my first coin bought specifically for this set.

1804 1/2 cent (seller's pics, I'll post my own when I receive it)

Thanks again!

I look forward to seeing what you have put together so far.

60% done fells like a long way off for me Grape. If you don't mind me asking, how long has it taken you to get that far?

Take your time and get the ones you want.
Nothing worse than getting a coin that you later wish that you hadn't bought.

I'm down to 3 coins to go, all 1796.
But it looks like the only one I'll be able to get is the 1796 (or 1797) dime.
The quarter and the half are WAY out of my league.
Describe it as if there were no picture.
Picture it as if there were no description.

It's taken me about a year. At this point I'm missing a flowing hair and draped bust half dime, a draped bust dime,a draped bust quarter (am currently eyeing one), a flowing hair half, and a seated, trad, bust and flowing hair dollar, and an assortment of coppers. I have most of the dollars already locked down and reserved, just have to produce the funds. I'm doing the draped bust in VF or higher, so that may take a bit. Coppers are the most stressful and I'll probably put it to last. Your draped bust Half Cent is a steller example, nice even color, strong strike, and great eye appeal. Coppers frusturate my prefectionist side because I want all problem free, nice, well struck coins with good color and nice grades. Unfortunatly that's not possibly with some of them. I look forward to seeing your set develop!

Beautiful example.

That's appreciated Coinfrog.

It's funny, A year ago the only thing I'd spend more than $50. on was bullion or the like. I guess you could say I've seen the light!
