Matte proof from PCGS vs the one I just bought...and they stated it was cleaned, good catch...just looked like an uncanny die match, and for under 40 bucks I figured I'd gamble.

I checked the die markers, not a matte proof

I don't know how you guys are determining the originality of the fields with the lighting washing out pretty much everything. Maybe I need new glasses

this is not a matte proof, and also note the odd color of the coin if it is not the lighting issue, and the slight wear on the high points

Is this coin in hand?

If so use daylight LED lighting no flash using the grey background.

The color does look off.

No, not in hand yet, I like posting buys here before and after, helps me and possibly others get a feel for how vendors pictures actually represent a coin...lots of us buy online and have had coins be much worse, or much better in hand than how it was represented on ebay.

Will get better pics when it arrives.

The light is too strong and oversaturating the pictures. This type of light/photo will cut completely through any patina on the coin.

I agree with panzaldi, it's very difficult, if not impossible, to accurately determine much from these pictures. Sadly, I believe I see signs of the coin having been whizzed. The bust and obverse rim are badly damaged IMO. The reverse devices, especially ONE CENT, show signs of a whizzing.

MS details (without more accurate pictures)
