Parallel die scratches between the top of the IB of PLURIBUS. From a cratch on the master reverse die. Found on Lincoln Cent matte proof reverses between 1910 and 1914.
Die scratch from the lower right leg of the M into the field above the E of ONE. From a scratch on the master reverse die.
Small die scratch from the top right inside the O of ONE.
Die scratch from the left inside middle of the left leg of the N of ONE south.
Unless I am seeing things....pretty sure this is solid evidence...
Off the top of my head, I can't think of any proof dies in the Lincoln series being used for business strikes. If this isn't a matte proof, it is a business strike with a VEDS obverse and VEDS reverse. Given the mint's habit in this era of changing one die at a time, a VEDS-VEDS die pairing would be a rare critter.
One question. Aren't the rims on matte proofs usually smooth, rather than granulated?
That's why I posted the video, it reminds me of how a brilliant proof refracts light, but with a really grainy surface. I thought only later die state proofs had luster? I'm here to learn.
