numismatic student Bedrock of the Community United States 11954 Posts	Posted 10/26/2019 10:54 am I think this may be a weakly struck XF coin. Note the obverse leaves have full spines. The calatrava cross above the shield has most of the secondary interior outline. VF coins do not have that level of detail. Center of shield looks flat but shield outline looks detailed and sharp. Reverse shows stars that are all fully split and not worn flat. Report this Post to the Staff

I've always said that both the Shield and Liberty nickels just seem to be forgotten so often, even though many of them are very tough to get in better grades.
