Noted protusion in nose tip in 1973 D uncirculated mint Jefferson nickel. May I have comments/opinions?

It looks as if the tip of Jefferson's nose has taken a small hit. It doesn't match the original shape. I don't know of anything in the minting process that could have caused this.

With that said, let's see what the others think.
The first US coin motto was found on a 1792 half disme and read: "LIB (erty) PAR (ent) OF SCIENCE & INDUSTRY"
