Lots of $2 bills had a stamp added to them and then the stamp received a cancel.
Why?
1976 was the 200th anniversary of the US's freedom from Great Britain and our Constitution.
You know, the Revolutionary War.
It was in all the papers ;-)

I have a couple of those bills.
They are worth $2 each.
Describe it as if there were no picture.

As mentioned above, many 1976 $2 notes had postage stamps applied and then were date stamped by the Post Office. Popular as souvenirs of the time when our nation's Bicentennial was taking place. They typically sell for $4 - $10 each, sometimes more when an interesting serial number or unique stamp and postmark are involved. I'm a homer, so I bought one postmarked in Tampa.
