Came by this coin in a bottle of a family member. Had to have been there since 1982! Just wondering how this coin got this way, looks like the metal was moved around at high Temps/pressures. I found 2 1982 us pennies that had a similar look that I'll include. Thanks

Looks like road coins (coin thats been on the sidewalk a while) just 2 abused coins that have been slid around hard surfaces like cement, gravel ect.
They say coin roll hunting is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get.... I think it went something like that, I was too busy looking at coins.

This is my very first error coin I found that got me hooked.

They're "parking lot coin." Misused and abused. Spend them while you can.

"Road Rash" or "Parking Lot Coin" are just terms to identify
a badly damaged coin. Unless you were there at the time, it is
impossible to say exactly what happened. The important thing
is that there is no way that damaged could have happened
during the striking of the coin so it is some form of PMD.

A person could experiment and run over a couple pennies with car. Cheap enough to try!
