Ok, so the bottom half of the B in Liberty is filled, I believe that's a BIE.
But what is it when the 9 in the date is filled?
This is the same coin.
Thanks

Sorry, not a 'BIE'. Both are die chips which are common for LWC in the 1950's.

As I understand it, "bie" is a die chip between "b" and the "e".

@SD, the filled in letter B is a result of a broken post on the die, while the partly filled in number 9 is more broadly called a die chip.

A 'BIE' is a die break that can be found between any of the letters of "LIBERTY." However, it is most commonly found between the 'B' and 'E' of "LIBERTY."

Common "broken post" error with little premium if any.
