So I have another one for today. On my search for the fabled 1943 copper penny I stumbled upon this. The tails side isn't damaged so I don't think it was viced. The marks on the face seem to make an x. What do you all think, good find or defaced currency?
@hokuto, first welcome to CCF. Second, despit the lack of damage to the reverse, I think that the linear depressions on the obverse are just damage. Perhaps the coin was placed on a soft material like leather when those indents were made.
