You might not notice any changes during the next few days... I'm working with wizard coin supply to put together some special packages for CRHers...
I'm excited about their willingness to work with me and I'm hoping that we end up with some great packages. Right now we're putting the first one together. Once it's been completed the others should come together fairly quickly. Here's an example of what I'm talking about
CRH Nickel Supplies
1. HE Harris Folder
Jefferson nickels No. 1, 1938-1961
2. HE Harris Folder
Jefferson nickels No. 2, 1962-1995
3. HE Harris Folder
Jefferson nickels No. 3, 1996-Date
4. xx Nickel 2×2's
5. xx Nickel Coin Rolls
That's a $xx value but from Wizard you'll only be charged $xx
I'm hoping to have something similar to this for all the denominations as well as having a super lot for someone who's just starting out in CRH.
There's a lot of coordination that has to go on for this between the two of us. I have to determine the lots. They have to put a package together for it / take images / determine a price. I then have to put the package into my site / link to theirs. They then have to approve what I've put into my site and verify that the link text meets their standards. Like I said kind of involved but I think it will add value for my visitors.
It also pushes one of the things I was worrying about off onto some one who's happy to do it while still maintaining some continuity. I knew I probably needed a store but due to my work schedule (I spend an average of 20 days a month away from home) I didn't know how I was going to go about fulfilling orders. A store just adds one more layer of complexity to a site as well.
What I'm really hoping for is that some of the avid CRH posters here consider becoming part time authors on the site.
As an example, I'd like to have a "Nickel Author". Someone who is searching through multiple boxes of nickels a month. If someone like that would pick 2 of those boxes each month, take an image of their keepers from each box, and then right a short paragraph about each box (Date, Company, Bank sort of information), I would then (or they would if they felt comfortable with it) take that information and make it a daily post.
If I could get authors doing this for each of the denominations that would mean there would be 10-12 of these sorts of posts every month. In addition to these posts I'd be posting some of my own hunts as well as current bullion auctions. That would end up giving the site enough content to post something new to the front page every other day.
