Here is an interesting Indian Head. Did the die slip when striking or is coin altered ? Is this called anything ?
Also any ideas on approximate value. Thanks - Bob

First,

The answer is "yes." Nice coin!

There may be some discussion as to exactly what you have here. It appears to be a retained fragment, but it does not show design details. I notice the missing metal on the Indian's cheek, and it seems close to the size of what is retained.

Let's wait and see what others say when they weigh in on it. In any event, you have a collectible error.

I think the cheek is just a smudge on the coin - not missing metal. Thanks for response - Bob

Sorry - can't seem to get cheek closeup on - it keeps putting up the obverse. Any way - I think its just a mark.
Found in a large cull bunch I bought.

As to value that is oddly enough only due to what someone would pay for it. Not easily found in error descriptions.

Well we'll find out in a week as I think I'll put it up on ebay. I love Indian Heads but would rather have the proceeds to buy higher grade coins. Thanks to all that
