BTW: it's from China by way of Japan.

Did you personally acquire it from a fake source, or are you assuming that is where it is from?

It's looks dished on the obverse side correct? that's what I'm seeming in pics. The fields from the king going out to the rim should be completely flat.

I looked at a bunch of examples all are flat.

The Seller had a very interesting mix of Genuine and Counterfeit coins, mostly Asian or Asian-Influenced. Some were real Humdingers, and some were obviously counterfeit. Some XRare, some common. "All over the place" is an apt description. I'm always on the lookout for Canada KGV small cents, red and red-brown. This coin popped-up in my feed. I had a nice 1922 raw AU-grade I used for comparison. I saw the die-pimple, but everything else looked G-O-O-D. The only thing that I couldn't see, the Third Side or edge, would tell me Yea or Nay. When I received it, I could see that the rim was waaaaaay too 'shiny' for the coin's supposed preservation. When I broke it out of the 2x2, I could see that it was more like a Specimen-strike edge: square, knifed, and sharp rather than 'rolled' in the usual Upsetting Mill fashion.

Like I stated, his mix of coins ran from Whoa to No. The Chinese counterfeiters cannot solve the "edge problem" that they have, as in duplicating Mint-made milling. The coin appears to be more clean of marks than it should be, with clean surfaces. One can make an argument for the luster either way. If it's a Genuine Mint Strike then it's a Grand Slam. I'll add pics of the edge after breakfast (I'm doing this from my hospital bed, so I cannot juxtapose against a known-genuine edge). See what you think then...

Just examined the edge of my landon large cents and they are
Fully mirrored, totally different from the more satiny red surface on the field, and Its safe to assume the coins are genuine... maybe your coin was stored in a optimal condition for the edge so it still got the original luster ?
