The denomination is an Antoninianus of Gordian 111, the date is 239-240 AD Gordian 11's abbreviated titles of TR.P.11 and COS were renewed at about that time. Report this Post to the Staff

Although, a bit pricey, you can search the vcoins.com stores and see what they are selling for. You can also do a ebay search and click on "Sold and Completed" to see what they have sold for. I think this one is: RIC IV Gordian III #68 AR Antoninianus - Gordian III - AD 240 Obverse: IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG; Bust of Gordian III right, radiate, draped, and cuirassed. Reverse: P M TR P II COS P P; Gordian togate, veiled, standing front, head left, sacrificing out of patera in right hand over altar, wand in left hand. According to Roman Imperial Coinage: The FEL(IX) on the obverse celebrates the repression of an uprising in Africa in early 240, and TR P II passes on to TR P III about July 240.
