Wanted a second opinion on this, please, or the proper nomenclature for what's going on.

Looks like an early stage die crack before a full chip on top-right of Memorial.

Thanks in advance!

That's a pre-die chip depression. It didn't chip just yet, but it was about to.

Thanks everyone for the compliments and the input!
I've been trying to improve my macro photography of coins--it helps when you work in the visual arts for a profession and have access to a nice camera and lens and know the general lighting principles. I actually write a CRH column for my local coin club newsletter and supply my own finds and photographs, so it's a good excuse to get in some regular practice. One day I'll feel good enough about my work to shop my skills around and make a few bucks with it.

TBH, I got a lot of great information from the photography section of the community forum.

@John1. I know, out of almost a roll's worth of culled 1960 Ds, only one was a small date! This one wasn't it. haha

On of the RPMs for that year has a marker like that. (I forget right now which one.) A closer view of the mintmark might be helpful?

Coop,
Will do. Was just about to upgrade my setup a touch so I could get better macro scaling on the images. I'll isolate the mintmark and add to this thread.

Thanks for being a legend! LOVE your informative images.

Seems like images we retain a lot longer, than just reading posts. So having a description, with an image, the picture is painted and remains longer in our memory.
