Is this dime an error the reverse side is very strange-looking it almost looks like the imprint of a penny embedded into it thank you

@sw, first welcome to CCF. Second, you are seeing the copper inner layer of the dime. Can you please add a pic of the edge in this region to this thread? With the overall pics, I can't tell if it is damage or not. Thx.

Interesting! I can't tell from these photos. If you could get closeups of the possible error it would really help. Also crop and rotate the photos so that it shows only the coin and in the correct orientation.
