Looks like a filler for the 1909-S VDB hole in your album. No one could prove/disprove it. LOL

Just damage. I have a matching dime from 1887 that I've had in my collection for 40 years.

It appears to be a shield cent (2009-) that has been severely damaged

Sorry, Nieuw, but appears to be a Memorial cent, imo. Also, shield cents began in 2010.
