Found This 1779 Rhode Island Ship Token, Is It The Real Deal?

NoahBUS New Member United States 11 Posts	Posted 06/28/2020 02:18 am I bought from a fellow a bunch of random british coins and years later I found this 1779 rhode island ship token thrown in with a bunch of random six pences, three pences and the like and at first when I saw the price I assumed it was just a replica but with my experience with old cooper coins everything about this one seems genuine. What do you guys think? And if so how much would you reckon it's worth? Report this Post to the Staff

The size is 1.25 inches across the surface and 1/8th of an inch width The weight I'd say is around 1/8th of an ounce. Report this Post to the Staff

I've seen over 5 different replicas online and none have this R and I haven't been able to find any of the real coins with the "R" either. Report this Post to the Staff

I cannot help you with information on your coin, but I just wanted to inform you that, in the future, you should always orient your coin photos properly, crop your photos to show only the coin, and submit photos of both sides of the coin (obverse and reverse.)
