this is split plate doubling and a minor die crack, both do not offer any added value. Keep looking though and to CCF

Split plate is not doubling. It exposes the zinc under the strike. On some coins I feel it is the result of Machine Doubling stretching the plating which is thin. This is a striking issue. On the die crack that is a die issue. Neither are worth saving, but new ones will save them, and later dump them when they realize they are common. Looks like the die has aged little by the rim this coin was struck. But the die cracked and will probably be used for several hundred thousands of strikes.

Thanks y'all. I appreciate the feedback and information. I am new to coin collecting and have yet to learn all the different terms and varieties. I will keep posting more as I find better errors. Thanks again!

Just a FYI: there is a difference between an error and a variety, and you may want to start your research on that. Read as many posts as you can and you will learn a lot here on CCF.
