Hi everyone, I'm back again with I believe is possible double die 1994 penny. I would highly appreciate it if anyone can give me some feedback or share some of their knowledge with me. Thanks! I'll be lookin forward to all of your guys input. Thanks! I'm uploading a couple of snaps I've taken.
What you have is a zinc core cent that's copper plated. What you're seeing is called "split plate doubling" caused by the pressure of the strike to break the copper plating making the zinc core exposed. It can be found on most years of the zinc cents (2.5 grams) Very common with the LMC don't see it as much on LSC
to CCF....good luck on future finds, have fun and keep asking any and all questions...
