Hi guys back again with something different this time and I hope it's not just roadkill lol! Can anyone tell me about this coin? How old it is and where it came from? Need all info about it. Thanks! I'm also wondering if it's mixed with gold.

@mg, first welcome to CCF. Second, that looks like ancient Rome, so I'm going to move this thread to the correct sub-forum and we can get some eyeballs on it.

Looks like a Provincial tet, maybe from Alexandria. The seated figure is holding scales. Maybe Dikaiosyne (Aequitas)?

It's a potin (copper/lead alloy) tetradrachm of Alexandria in Egypt. Can't make out the full name, but my money is on Probus for this one. Definitely from the 270s - 280s.

Also looks like the emperor Probus dates from 276-282 AD.

I don't think Probus. More likely C II G. Similar to this one.

Claudius II Gothicus, Billon tetradrachm

Obv:- AVT K KLAUDIOC CEB, Laureate, cuirassed bust right
Rev:- None, Dikaiosyne seated left on throne, holding scales and cornucopia
Minted in Alexandria (LB | _). A.D. 268/269
Reference:- Milne 4231. Emmett 3875(2) R1. Curtis 1664. BMC 2316. Dattari 5386

Hello... I'm also a newcomer on the forums here. http://www.wildwinds.com is an awesome resource for ancient coins. The owner of the site has been compiling a gallery of thousands of coin. Most are from auctions, so they often include the price paid. Some go back 20 years, plus the values are not necessarily the same for examples of the same coin.
