Am I correct in assuming the reverse has a lamination issue? It almost looks like a die break where it starts in the center of the wing but the way it extends through the OL of DOLLAR is kind of strange.. Thanks for your help as always
Looks like a lamination issue to me. Does look like there is a die crack on the obverse below WE, carrying into the neck, so you can get a good visual comparison.
Lamination issues will be below the surface of the coin, being it's quite literally a crack and separation in the alloy. A die crack will be raised, above the surface of the coin since it is showing the negative of what is happening on the die.
