Is it rare for the FRONT PLATE to match the BACK PLATE exactly (D3-D3)?

What you have is the plate position number and the front plate number matching

I would really like to know the answer to my original question or at least a reason why the question could not be answered. Thanx

Sorry I missed the original post.
It's not unusual for the plate numbers to match towards the beginning of a series when the numbers are low. Once things get cranked up, further into the series, you rarely see it.

IMO: I have never witnessed large collector base interest in plate numbers unless:
a) they're absent or varied in colour/position (as was the case for the CDN Modified 1954 series $1/& some 1986 Birds series denominations respectively)
or
b) they indicate a "mule" or "WEB" banknote -which the BEP has produced.
Even then, the collector interest is far less enthusiastic than for: special/fancy serial numbers, replacements, test notes, change-over prefixes or errors.

I agree with walk2dwater. Front or Rear plate numbers are elements of the note but spark little interest unless deemed an error, like this BP129 engraving error.

The BP number (129) is engraved on the bottom left, whereas the correct placement should have been the bottom right...as noted on the holder.

Thanx guyz! I hope I didn't come off too bumptious. If so, it wasn't on purpose.

-Cool note Steve. That's the first time I've seen a BP number on the bottom left. (I wonder how it was produced as these position numbers are usually on the plates, correct?)
