Sorry if I am doing this wrong, it is my first post. If anyone has any idea about this coin, I have had it for many years and always assumed it is just someone's art experiment. It looks so odd and the details are impossible to make out. But if anyone has any thoughts, I would like to hear. Many thanks.

I think it's most likely a modern pendant of some type. I'm going to move it over to a better area for identification.

I think the legend in the first photo says that the figure on this side is St. Moritz (or Maurice or Mauritius). This saint was patron of some places in Switzerland, and Magdeburg Germany. Legend has it that he was the leader of a Roman legion that was persecuted for observing Christianity in the late 3d century. His iconography often shows him with sword (or lance) and shield

I do not think this is a coin, but this might place it in late 16th to early 17th century central Europe, based on the Spanish collar worn by the woman in the second photo (fashionable roughly from 1575 to 1635).

Or, as already suggested, a later reproduction.

Maybe this will give someone else a starting point.

I agree with @tdz that the image and inscription indicate St. Maurice. Also, it sure looks like a relatively modern pendant.
