Hello everyone!
I just wanted to ask Canadian collectors, what you think of the price of 1 cent 1881 listed in coinscanada - since I'm in Europe and in a European auction this coin is offered at a starting price of only 250 euros in MS65+ grade, I wonder if this is the real price of the coin and maybe it has an unreal price in the catalogs? Is it worth buying at a price of about 300-350 Euros if there are other bidders? Thanks for any feedback!

An 1881-H large cent in MS65 is a very condition rare coin, with only two or three known. I would be very suspicious of a counterfeit coin, or a very over-graded coin.

Yes, Gebs, it's listed on sixbids and it looks like this is the same coin from the PCGS population page. But I can't find a real selling price for the last 2-3 years in similar grade...

Well, 1881 has more varieties than any Vicky, except for the 1859's It's hard to tell from the photo if there's any repunches or other doubling. I'm also not in to TPG'ing.

The price on coinscanada is for a Red exemple, the market for RB and BN Ms large cents is way smaller.

A PCGS ms-64BN sold for 207 Euros in June 2018. Assuming this is a ''strong'' ms-65RB, I guess 250 Euros (and even more) would be a fair price.

PCGS and NGC high grade large cents in BN/RB are often hard to estimate the Price I think...

If the PCGS coin is the coin in question, I withdraw the possible counterfeit comment. That coin probably is worth the 250 euros, or more. A red coin would be worth much, much more.
