Hi
I would like to know what you think of this one cent
Hi
I would like to know what you think of this one cent?
I bought and took out of a 1965 plastic set because it was going bad.
And did I notice that it has a mirror finish?
I don't see it like the other one cent that I'm used to having, what do you think?
and I did not know if to publish it but there is this one.

Thank you.

If I remember correctly the SMS in 1965 was cello packed not plastic . Or it could have been in a Capital plastic holder . Or they also produced Business strikes but those wouldn't have a mirror finish .

It is from this set and it is normal not sms.
I had to take it out because it was deteriorating.
I have the special 66 and 67 sms.

It is a plated cent. I can see the exposed copper underneath the worn plating. Not an SMS.

Thank you very much for seeing that on the Jim 0815 coin.
It would be excellent if it were so.

I'm also confused. @Jose, that is the same cent that is pictured in the SMS packaging, correct? You just recently removed it? Certainly looks SMS to me. Just looks like the elements and time have starting making an appearance on this one.

Yes it is, as the same spot is behind the head. All SMS coins in a set.

Coinfrog, I have a 1961 D that for some reason was plated. Why anyone would plate a perfectly good cent I have no idea why, but they did. It almost looked as if it was gold plated.

IIf Ty2020b removes it from the set because it is deteriorating.
But that doesn't mean they didn't make a mistake
with this cent?
As with many others.
I don't know much about this and I can't say yes or no.
But I appreciate all the opinions and they are all welcome.

Thanks all.
