This is a very odd counterfeit, as it has many problems. It is severely misalligned, some sort of bubbling, and a solid grey edge. The most odd thing to me is why someone would countfeit such a modern quarter.
Very interesting. Where do you get it? Did you compare the weight with a modern clad quarter? Maybe bring it to a LCS that has a spectrometer to determine metal composition.
I'd bet some kid just fooling around. There is NO attention to detail or even trying to make it realistic. The important question is, where did you get it? If from circulation, someone has broken counterfeit laws. Everything is wrong on this coin!
The coin isn't magnetic, and the reeding is very worn, as if it had been heavily circulated. I did find it in circulation, from a vending machine. A very odd coin.
