1982 D Washington Quarter - Doubling?

MrBreeze Valued Member United States 177 Posts	Posted 11/29/2020 4:21 pm Not sure what is going on with this one, so I thought I would toss it up the forum for thoughts. I checked VV and saw that there are no 1982 D DDO's listed. This one caught my eye and seems to have a lot going on with the motto and a few other devices. Is this just deteriorated die doubling or Machine Doubling? Thanks for any education on this one. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 47852 Posts	Posted 11/29/2020 4:59 pm Mostly Machine Doubling and a bit of die wear. But 1982/1983 you need to keep the BU quarters. They had mint sets those years, but to get them, you had to buy them at the locations to get them. So mint sets are few this year. A lot of collectors need better examples for their collections and they will be few in number. So this one is one to save to a 2X2. (Other others as well when you find them) Richard S. Thought for sure it looked like split serifs on the E and the R of Liberty and the RUST of Trust. Thought that might be legit double die.
