I found this in a roll of circulated wheat cents over the weekend and just getting time to take a look at it. Seems like it had an old cleaning and the obverse is a little "nicky" but overall in pretty strong condition. It has the usual coating of dust and light circulation grime on it typical of coins in the wild, which can easily be removed but so far I've just left it dirty. My fear is that removing the dirt will make that old cleaning start showing up a bit too much. 1922 No "D" Lincoln Wheat cent - die pair 2 strong reverse

That's an incredible find from a roll of wheats! Looks like a genuine strong reverse, and it looks great just the way it is! Hard to believe there are still some coins like this that haven't been discovered yet.

Thanks folks! Certainly was a nice one to see show up. The tube was mostly teens through thirties, about half of them were culled for cleaning issues, and the rest averaging VG so overall a decent roll for wheats. There were about 10 tubes in this collection, and pretty much other than some RPMs on the 1950's coins nothing else of much interest. Grapes, I think it is more VF in-hand. There's wear that doesn't show up real well through the circulation grime. And the coin was cleaned, note that it looks too light in color and my photos look darker than it actually is. But a very old cleaning and not too distracting as mostly naturally retoned. smat45, busy doesn't begin to describe it. I have more time in the off-season for coins, but still work and do all those normal things. But on average I go through about 1000 coins a day, and generate a ridiculous number of things that get found, attributed and carded, checked against what's in my collection for new ones or upgrades, and then all filed away. My doubles box is overflowing with just what I processed since this weekend and haven't filed with the rest of the doubles yet.

You are a legend. You practically have your own coin shop. I only go through 200 wheats a day at best. Great find. And you have time to scour ebay as well. Is ebay your time off to relax?
