I thought it would be useful to start a thread here in which those of us who have bought supposed unsearched rolls on ebay can profile the rolls we purchased. I feel this could potentially benefit a lot of people who are inclined to buy rolls hoping for keys and semi-keys, etc. I recently bought a single roll from two different sellers as well as a 2500 count bag. I will be profiling them here shortly but I wanted to get people's reaction to this idea first. As a format I was thinking some thing like the following: 1. Seller you purchased from 2. What you purchased 3. Special "claims" like 'unsearched' 'obw', etc. 4. A detailed account of what you found, similar to: 2 teens 4 20's 1 30's 22 40's 20 50's 2 LMC's 5. A list of any special finds you think you got in the roll. 6. A brief statement of how satisfied you were with the purchase. So what do you think? Anyone else interested in this idea?

What else would be nice is if two folks have coins of similar value that each other needs, that a trade could be arranged. I realize there is a trade thread on here, but sometimes we may just want to trade two pennies that are worth Three Cents each, for our sets.

chrisb already started a thread like this. ....and....I'll say it again. There's no unsearched rolls or bags on ebay.

Maybe the term searched needs to be refined ? while most if not all of the wheats on ebay have been searched for dates and mint marks , some of the lots may still contain many of the varieties and errors . RPM's and OMM's as well as some of the minor Doubled dies may still be in the lots , the work and time required to search for these anomolies is staggering , while purchasing bags and rolls of circulated cents from ebay seldom pays big dividends if chosen carefully its possible to find some cool stuff in the some of the lots .

There are no "unsearched" wheat rolls on ebay, I agree. My question is "when was the roll created?" If it was rolled prior to 1950, there might be a prize or two, but most likely, it was rolled last week and all the wheaties have a billion brothers and sisters.

If the roll is older like you said, i'd think there might be some RPM's and such in there, but nothing better. Old ladys that roll into the bank is where its at :)
