I'm new here and to the Coin World. I have a 2006 quarter that looks like it was struck on a wrong planchet. It's thick Like a nickel smooth around the edges and has a copper discolour in spots. Any ideas? I'm having issues uploading a image

Need photos, sounds like it could be a dryer coin.

I don't think it's a dryer coin as the width of the whole coin is the size of a nickel.. not just a beat up wide edge

To the CCF

What you are describing is the description of a dryer coin.
Smooth edges
Thick rim
Smaller diameter
Do you have the weight?
Of course this is just speculation without a picture to confirm.
