Fun video. But the poor guy didn't seem to have learned much during those 45 years if he never bothered to check his coins for better dates as he went along.

I don't think the guy was a true coin collector like us. I think he just hoarded pennies without looking for or caring about the things we care about with regards coins.

I bet that guys couldn't even tell you what President was on the coin!! I doubt if he even looked at the designs or dates, he just picked them up, looked for them in his change and put them in jars.
This reminds me of that video that was posted years ago about that guy who paid off the last I think $7k of his mortgage with pennies. I can't remember the whole story but it was definitely cute. It was a promise he made to his wife that he would do that. I believe his wife had passed.
