First, stop watching videos. That is a normal 1964D quarter. With over 704 million produced they are plentiful. The only thing they have going for them is they are 90% silver so it is worth more than a quarter.

Actually they are not silver, they are the same composition as modern nickels. Very common date worth only face value. What video did you see this on?

Yes, a very common, circulation-worn '64 D nickel. And yes, they are not silver.

My mistake, I was for some reason thinking of a Quarter. Been a long day. In that case it is worth 5 cents.

The Buffalo is just the 2005 series. As far as I know, they are only worth the 5 cent face value. I am sure that there are very exceptions but it's not uncommon to find them in rolls. The worthwhile buffalos are those minted before 1938 when Jefferson was minted on the coins. Some please correct me if I am wrong.

Is this the '64 you're thinking of, the one mentioned in the video -- 1964 5C SMS (Special Strike)? The coin first posted above is a common '64 D nickel, not a special strike. PCGS info on the '64 special strike: https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin...-5c-sms/4170

Quote: So your telling me I should never believe these videos? Pretty much never. They go for hype so their youtube channel makes money. Although if you really watched and listened to that video, I don't know how you could think your nickel is valuable. It's only the SMS coins. Both nickels posted here are just normal pocket change.

Oh boy , Vinnie my man how long have you been collecting coins ? Most of those you tube videos are bogus ,the 1964-D Jefferson nickel is the most common of the series with billions minted for circulation . Also that Nickel with the Buffalo on the reverse is not what we call a Buffalo nickel . It's a common modern coin worth 5¢ . The true Buffalo nickel has an Indian on front and a Buffalo on the back .1913-1938 .
