LOL... no, a thousand times (quite literally) no!

Except for collector sets, of course.

How can you be a coin aficionado and vote "No"? What numismatist wants to wipe-out an entire Type from the face of the earth by voting "No"?

The US does NOT have the penny.
It's a cent.

And like @CelticKnot I say "NO" for circulation, but "YES" for collector sets.
Describe it as if there were no picture.
Picture it as if there were no description.

If we revalue the currency and drop a zero from everything, we could bring back the Half Cent...

Without the penny, the nickel is the new de facto Half Cent and the dollar the new dime.

The cent needed to be eliminated over twenty years ago. Some would say forty. It is a waste of money.

Copper plated steel or aluminum is pretty cheap.
But just imagine, going to your favorite lunch place and at check out see the new "Take a Half Cent, Leave a Half Cent" bowl filled with 2021-W Draped Bust Half Cents or 2021-W Braided Hair Half Cents...

Speaking for myself, as a classic type collector, I stopped paying attention to cents when we hit Zincolns, so my "No" vote was based mainly on the 'our government is wasting money producing these' mentality

But still not cheap enough. A cent made from thin air would still cost more than a cent to make.

The very existence of "take a penny, leave a penny" is all the proof you need to know how worthless the cent is for commerce.

Also voted no for the same reasoning.
