Some of my ancestors were likely Viking (Swedish/Norwegian/Scandinavian/Cree)
Some of my favorite coin designs are of ships.
There is already a ship thread here.
Show me something that has to do with ships or with water or something along that vein but no ships/canoes/boats and no animal life as the primary design.

My examples...

The Maine State Seal is depicted on the 1920 Maine Statehood Centennial commemorative half dollar. One of the supporters of the shield at the center is a sailor who is leaning on an anchor.

Thank you for the opportunity to laugh at myself fondly once again, lol.

I had to check my own 1967... yup... there is a lighthouse there! Lol, I did not realize there was one on this piece... I feel like such a tool, lol

Thanks again!

Looking good!

Never noticed the lighthouse myself. And I am a fan!

Yes! Bronze pennies from 1860 to 1894 have a lighthouse and a sailing ship. From 1895 to 1936, neither. From 1937 until 1970, just the lighthouse!

Another British coin with a lighthouse is the 2014 2 coin commemorating Trinity House, the association that looks after the UK's lighthouses and lightships:

This one is part of the 2001 100y of federation coins from Australia, featuring Norfolk Island. I see an anchor.

Nice coin, but a ship also features prominently in the design. The OP was looking for coins without ships on them - "no ships/canoes/boats and no animal life" was the specific instruction given.

I'm not trying to deter posts or act like the "post police." but I do think we should all stay true to the intent of the threads in which we participate and honor the intentions of their OPs.

Not such a bad job really. One could even think of themselves as de-escalation specialists, Lord knows many times the heat can flare between virtual combatants in places like this. I was actually hoping for some fishermen in slickers and rain caps, islands, fishing poles, coral reefs and such.

While I do not disagree... lol, I guess the claim could be made that, the primary design on the coin in question is the naval officers and not the ship in the background concluding it in fair play for the responder. No?

Cheers from Canada!
