Fantastic collection of Quarter Eagles so far, Jon!
What are you plans with the 1908 AU-58?

Thanks all! I had to trade a nice 1914 in 63+ cac, amongst some others for this 11p. So I cut my quarter eagle collection basically in half for this deal.. but that's what upgrading is about I guess. Next I need a nice 1914 again.

Ed- I should also be getting that au58 coin next week. Its being photographed. I am not sure if I will keep it a while or not. Might let it go, will see what happens.

A day without fine wine and working on your coin collection is like a day without sunshine!

Ah, well these new ones being worth more than half the rest of the coins is a better place to be IMO, as the keys are only advancing in price more rapidly than the rest of the series, as in almost all rare coins.

Case in point in my Proof Two Cent collection I built, I never got the Small Motto, they were $15-35K when I began, they were closer to $80K when I finished (all but that one) and it was only a period of a half a decade or so. It more than doubled in 5 years the other (more common) were about the same price and some were even lower in five years when I had to sell them.

A Proof Two Cent collection without the 1864 Small Motto is still very doable. A date set should be around $10K in PR64 BN.

Interestingly, a day or two ago this coin suddenly went from 2 finer, to 1 finer. Not sure what to make of this, if anything.
