Hi all. I hope the pictures are good enough. I am unable to discern if doubling here.

The coin weighs 2.5 grams

Thank you for all your help and expertise!

Agree with 44dovers. I see no evidence of doubling. Keep hunting! Doubled dies are rare, but you will eventually find one. Are you using a reference site like variety vista, coppercoins, or wexler's die varieties to help as you search?

Ok thank you. Wasn't sure and it did not match the error I was (which was an extreme case of doubling). However, I thought it might be a more subtle version or Machine Doubling.

Appreciate the suggestions.

@cons there are more minor DDRs for this date, but I don't see anything here that would suggest this is one. Not seeing any Machine Doubling, but MD wouldn't have any numismatic value anyway.

Even if it is not valuable, need help identifying MD when it occurs. I guess none here then.

Thank you for the post coop. Sorry I am not posting examples such as these! Just trying to figure out how to identify any kind of doubling, DD or MD.

Thank you Oldfordman. I have been reading but I find it difficult to discern when looking at an actual coin. Like the 1982 D small date. Until I found one I wasn't quite sure if I was seeing large or small date. Plus I am beginning to think my loupe is too strong.

Rather than using the loupe, have you tried zooming in with your phone's camera? Even older phone cameras can zoom in 6X or more, which is plenty for identifying coin issues. Experiment with it, you might be surprised with the results!

Thank you merclover. I just figured out I have a magnifier option on my phone that can do that. It sounds like good advice.
