1914 S Lincoln Wheat Cent Mint Mark Position

I have been ebay shopping for a replacement 1914 S LWC. This morning when I had 4 different coins in my "watch" folder I noticed a difference in the positions of the mint mark in the coins relative to the date. Take a look at these pictures:

I looked in my reference books and could find nothing on this. Comments?

The various positions of the mint mark are due to the fact that at the time they were punched into each die by hand. It is just random chance on the locations. However, if you have a variety, ie rpm and maybe doubled die, the experts here (not me), can use the oposition of the mm to verify which variety it is.
