Found a 1970 D Penny with what looks like a Cud. Just need help confirming mark in the number 9. Much appreciated.

It's a nice die chip. A Cud start on the rim and has to go into the field of the coin.

The differences? A Die Cud is an end of life for the die. On a die chip, it will be used until they decide to retire it.
