How Can I Identify NZ 56 Strapless Penny?

I would like some help identifying the New Zealand strapless coins.
I once saw some info on verifying a real strapless penny from a fake as I guess it is too easy to remove the strap. I can not find it now.

I am new here and I did not see a better place to post this.

The key element to look for is the designer's initials M.G. on the truncation. The truncation on the strapless coins was cut like 45°. If you can see them as clear as a bell, it's a strapless coin. When the die was recut, the truncation was made at a much sharper angle to the plane of the coin (closer to 90°), so the letters are much harder to make out.

Since posting I found the reference I was looking for. There is an extensive description of the strapless NZ coins in The Guidebook and Catalog of British Commonwealth Coins, 3rd Edition (1971) by Remick, James, Dowle & Finn, pages 460 & 461.
