So every ms70 I've seen that's been auctioned or graded are either same quality or less minus maybe like 5 or so but I feel as though mine would def get ms70 it's never been out of the case never seen any of the elements so it's flawless as it was purchased in 1999. Do your feel I have something here or is it just gonna be a waste of time? Also note the toning starting on the reverse around the rim . thanks guys

I personally never see the point of grading a bullion version (non-proof, special version, etc) of an ASE. Usually at best, get your money back.

That said, the wings on the reverse make me question if it'll grade 70.

Please understand that the coin you've shown did not come from the Mint in such a holder - it was inserted into the holder after it left the Mint. The chances of it grading MS-70 are rather low, and any other grade would not justify the cost of having it graded by a leading/reputable third-party grading service (e.g., PCGS, NGC).

Just my opinion (re: grade not the holder backstory), others may disagree.

I agree that this has virtually no chance at a 70 even if it is perfect

I understand it hasn't been opened, but someone handled it after it was minted.

There's no chance this will grade 70.

You people clearly haven't viewed the coins that have received a 70 grade because I assure you theres maybe 5 total I saw that are as nice as mine so you can be negative all you want . There's is not a speck on mine no scratches no milk spots no oxidation nothing so how it wouldn't get a 70 especially seeing the others that have , is beyond me . Go to Heritage Auctions and view all of the coins that have sold and that have been graded 70 and then tell me about how mine won't get a 70 grade. I'll wait .

@Oheyitsmikeb: You came to CCF with a question and a request for opinions on your coin. When you didn't get the response you desired, you attacked the messengers. I don't understand.

Please prove us all wrong. Submit the ASE to PCGS and report back on the results. We'll be waiting!

It's a bullion ASE, it's been around. I doubt it will make it to MS68, but that's my opinion. I think you should send it in , since PCGS is considered the best send it to PCGS and I recommend you do next day. You know that's it's a 70 so the extra cost is worth it.

The best way to learn is to submit and get grade by either PCGS, NGC, or ANACS.

Personally I don't buy into all the hype over so called "Perfect MS-70" coins. I doubt that anything can be perfect. I would much rather purchase someones disappointing MS-69 at a significantly lower cost and enjoy the savings for another coin purchase. Always buy the coin and not the label.
