2017 D Quarter Missing Front/Back Clad Layer

Welcome but I'm afraid you haven't found the answer for your coin or about the one in the original post at that link. I'm going to suggest looking back over the replies to the original poster to see what was determined. (Damage from whatever environment it was in.) Weight is extremely important for a coin missing a clad layer. Your coin has obvious signs of circulation damage (dings and nicks) which would preclude a determination of an annealing issue from the mint. So in other words, no it is not an annealing issue either. Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow. Report this Post to the Staff
