thought this was interesting. Due to hyper inflation the Zimbabwe finance minister has allowed people to use other currencies in place of their own. Feel free to read the above article and post any comments. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7859033.stm

Wow. I'd like to get my hands on one of those 10 billion dollar notes to put with my post-WWI Germany notes and mid-90s Yugoslavia notes. How is worthless paper money going for $15 on ebay?

Hey Podo, that was of the last series. That's worth I think $10 or $100 of the one they have now...

Just think they have $100 T note... and they wiped out 10 zeros from the last series before printing that one.

If they hadn't wiped out those zeros... that 100T note would be 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 in the old series. That is 1 x 10^28 there is only 6.022 x 10^23 atom in a mole of an element.

Is there still hope for the greenback? Or will this lead to even more counterfeiting adding to the downward spiral of the US Dollar?

I have a Zimbabwe 1c coin from 1994. I don't know the last year it was made, but I guarantee that the value in melting the coin FAR exceeds the face value!
