I have a few questions regarding some wheat error/varieties...

How prominent is the 1946S, S over D? What am I looking for? Does anyone have pics?

Same question for the 1956D over Shadow D (according to Red Book). What is meant by "shadow"? I'm guessing this would be most prominent on MS quality coins and that any lesser grade would probably render any shadow indiscernible.

Also, from pics I've seen of the 1917 DD, I can barely see doubling on even the nicer pieces of this example...is doubling only evident on the date? or is there another way to tell on this (or any other of the above mentioned coins?)

all your answers will be found here- http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php
you can search by date and mint mark for pictures and die markers for most of the Lincoln RPMs and doubled dies

Jedichef,

here is a thread on 1956 RPM 008 which I suspect is what they are listing.
