Hello again, I pulled this coin from a penny roll. It has the most awesome green tone. Anybody know what causes this or if it has any effects on a coins grade?

Just environmental toning, but really carries no premium. I'd say it grades AU-58.

@ell, as a general rule, toning should not affect the grade since that is purely an assessment of damage/wear. Also, in some cases, artificially toned coins might be called out. With that said, there are plenty of folks who like an attractively-toned coin, so of course keep it if you like it!

For me, I'd keep it. Sometimes I do that with circulated coins even if they are only worth a penny!
For old coins and even modern silver coins, I must admit I'm the type of collector who'll pay extra for nice toning that isn't obviously artificial.

I would not call that "toning' or maybe not call it collectable toning. Looks like a substance is/was on it.

I'd suggest giving the coin a long soak in 100% acetone. Who knows, can't hurt.
