that's from Die Deterioration of a very late die state, all too common on nickels from that period

VLDS,aka a worn die. Nickel is a very hard metal and wears out the dies fast.

Also there is Machine Doubling. (on the reverse devices) Not a premium for this coin, but a great educational coin to show to a new collector. Save it for a show and tell coin when you conversing with a new collector.
