Hello,
Was going through an old coin collection and came across this. What is it and is it real?

@dog, first welcome to CCF. Second, since this purports to be an ancient coin (I'm thinking Judea), I'm going to move your thread over to that subforum. I will say that it seems likely to be a replica since coins that old don't have rims.

Thank you- I wouldn't be surprised if it was indeed a replica. From what I've gathered it looks most like an ancient quarter shekel but I know very little about this. The rim insight is great. I saw this which seems somewhat similar, has a rim but certainly different -

Nice detective work @dog. I'm thinking that you are right. How much does your piece weigh?
